Fincra has launched the Afincran initiative to unite and empower innovators, entrepreneurs, and builders across Africa.
This launch follows our recent transformation, which included redefining our mission- “Building the rails for an integrated Africa”- and our vision, “to bring hope and liberation to every African,” underscoring our commitment to driving continental progress through financial connectivity.
The word ‘Afincran’, a creative fusion of ‘Fincra’ and ‘African’, embodies the company’s commitment to Africa’s future, where financial connectivity and continental progress are inseparable.
The Afincran movement represents more than a corporate initiative; it’s a call to action for Africa’s change-makers. The initiative seeks to create a network of visionaries across diverse sectors—from payments and agriculture to healthcare, education, technology, arts, and sports—all working together to reshape Africa’s future.
At the recent Africa Tech Summit (ATS) in Nairobi, our Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Wole Ayodele on Wednesday, February 12 introduced the movement in a session, emphasising its potential to transform Africa’s narrative.
The announcement was followed by the movement’s inaugural event, the Afincran Connect, a fintech mixer at ATS. This marked the first of many planned gatherings designed to foster collaboration and innovation.
“The vision of this movement is built on African solutions for African challenges. It’s an identity for anyone committed to building Africa’s future,” explains Ayodele.
“Fincra is leading the movement by building the financial rails for an integrated Africa, which will help establish cross-border trade networks and drive financial inclusion to bring about economic growth for the continent.
